BLENHEIM, Ontario, Sept. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Thompsons Limited announces today it has named Dawn D. Betancourt as President of Thompsons Limited. In this capacity, Dawn will oversee the company, reporting to a board of directors comprised of representatives from both The Andersons, Inc., and Lansing Trade Group LLC, co-owners of Thompsons Limited.
Betancourt is a 27-year veteran of The Andersons, Inc., having served in a variety of capacities in the Grain Group. She began her career as a grain merchandiser and managed the company's Indiana grain operations before being named as director of sales for the Grain Group in 2008. She most recently served as Vice President of the Western Region before being named Interim President of Thompsons Limited in July.

Betancourt earned her bachelor's degree in Economics from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Mich. Subsequently she earned an Executive MBA from Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green, Ohio.
She is a member of the National Grain and Feed Association, previously serving on the association's Country Elevator Committee for six years.
